Bossbabe Aimee
If you have ever had photos taken by me, you’ll have met my Aimee. ‘I’ve been blessed with one amazing daughter, a best friend & she’s my team mate with my photography. Aimee always joined in with our consultations and photo sessions, nailed being under pressure working on a 15 hour wedding day and loved meeting the people we’ve been lucky to discuss all things photography, bikes & tattoos related. She grounds me when I’m stressed and knows when I fire orders or just give her the ‘look’ she totally understands what I need and how I think. Aimee can tell me when to stop editing because I’m being a head melter making sure everything is perfect or can tell me when I need to lift a camera just for myself. Together, we work as a team. And us rowdies have always enjoyed a giggle and a bit of banter with you guys too.
Now though, the time has came where my sidekick is jumping ship and becoming her own boss. Won’t lie, didn’t think this particular blog post would have been created so soon, although it was inevitable, as it doesn’t seem that long ago she was helping me while still at college. It’s scary biscuits, but all of a sudden, the time has flew by and my girl has grew up into a strong, independent young woman. I’m incredibly proud and excited for her new journey in life as a business owner.
So, let me introduce you to Detailing By Her NI. Aimee is following her own passion for detailing and valeting cars. Her standards are high, her customer service is brilliant and her drive, motivation and determination to learn and build her experience through certified training, has helped her start off on the right foot. Her work ethic is strong, she strives on learning right, with training from others within her industry and completing the explore enterprise program with the amazing Melanie Fitzpatrick who has helped build her confidence and knowledge for being self employed and building her own business (check out her blog post!)
Aimee takes great pride in each single task and truly believes that no matter what type of car you own, whether it’s new or old, luxurious, family or your workhorse, it’s the service you deserve.
When she told me after graduating uni that she wanted to do this as a business I was fully on board. Our team dynamics were beginning to shift, but love to encourage her because it’s her dream and I want her happy and let’s face it, what’s more better than being excited to get out of bed in the morning to do something you love, instead of having a job that sucks the living soul outta you. Aimee has supported me from day one & still encourages me as much as I do her. I have watched her start this from an idea in her head to setting her goals for each step and seeing how pushes herself out of her comfort zone to succeed in what she does. Of course, I’m still mum, so I’m there to offer what help and advice I can, look at each step from all angles to find loopholes, but also solutions if needed but to be honest, she’s got a great head on her shoulders and has most of everything covered.
I love that we also have a different working relationship, where now she gets to tell me what she needs to do her job, what photos, angles, it’s not just mum and daughter, it’s also our own identities, as Jules and Aimee and I so love helping her out. I get to give back and support her passion. To see how proud she is for all she’s achieving and the job satisfaction she gets from each car. It’s pure happiness. It has been fun helping her in the background from doing her photographs - of her clients cars, to her social media content, helping with her website to proof reading her blog posts and offering, if needed, any suggestions and advice. At the end of it all though, Aimee is fully in control and does her thing as she should do, she’s not shy in telling me to wind my neck in and let her be. Her personality and charisma shines through in all that she does. I love that you guys now get to see her personality really come across on her social media, for what you see online is what you get in real life. Aimee is so genuine and authentic which is why she’s so warm and welcoming to her customers. She listens, understands, and shares a laugh too while still being 100% professional. If you know what we’re like together, there’s always a bit of laughter and we can twist things rightly, but Aimee has always impressed me with her common sense, her decency in how to she treats others and her professional tone and attitude. Her customers have been delighted with their motors & have gave her great reviews and feedback. Her industry peers have commended her on her hard work so far and supported her greatly and as for her circle, well, you could say we’re biased, but we think she’s beezer.
No doubt I’ll manage to nab her now and then to join in on a few photo sessions with you guys and me, esp weddings because, we’re a sucker for them. Aimee is also supporting the Air Ambulance NI as her chosen charity, girl after my own heart, so every time you book in, you’re helping to keep this amazing life saving service that we truly can’t be without in the air.

Thank you for all that you do to help me, but now it’s my turn. Team work makes the dream work, you’ve got all my love, photos, cups of decaf tea and support returned…….ye know it’s unconditionally but do me one favour, never run out of two kings for boo ;)
