Returning to Indie Fude

Laura took part in the first Business Portraits Project back in 2018 and I was delighted that she contacted me to take part again. In case you don’t know, Indie Fude is a deli based in Comber, Co.Down and is a foodie’s delight! From an awesome range of cheeses to chutney’s, spread like peanut butter and chocolate, to dairy free chocolate, teas and coffees by the bag full and the best part, it’s all locally produced throughout Ireland.

Their deli is distinctive from their brand and bold colours on their eco friendly packaging to the huge prints that decorate the walls, it’s bursting with character. Indie Fude have, even through their own tough times in the middle of a global pandemic, went from strength to strength and have now opened their cheese shop on the Ormeau Road. They’re based beside memento flowers. They also offer an online service so you can get all these delicious goodies straight to your door.

With putting your experience first and foremost, Indie Fude offers more than just a deli experience. From their beer and cheese tasting events to Kayaking on Strangford lough, with an artisan meal prepared on one of the islands, and mix this with their fantastic people skills and how they pride themselves on the service they provide, you would be definitely in for a great time. This also ties in with the community they have built within their local community. You can see this when watching how Laura and Josh engage with their customers . The experience you get starts with the friendly welcome you receive when you enter the store and continues with their helpful knowledge of the products stocked. This all leads to great conversations and how they engage and communicate with all their customers, no matter their age.

This was the first time I met Josh and you can see how much he and Laura have a great working dynamic between themselves, both with how they are attentive in helping their customers, working together as a team and their banter with all. Indie Fude is one of those great shops that let you browse when you enter, are there if you need any assistance and their pride in their customer service shines in the joy they have of doing their job. Whether this is making sure your hamper is packed correctly and perfectly to simply preparing a coffee and treats for you to enjoy at the table while watching the world go by, Laura and Josh have totally got you.

As per the now norm, there are santising stations for your use around the shop, but it’s still so nice to see that even with or without a mask, their engagement is genuine and authentic to all. And how nice is it to be able to share a laugh and a smile with your customers! It’s what human connection is all about!

I can’t thank Laura and Josh enough for letting me intrude on their busy Saturday morning to document them for a while. Go follow them on their socials and check out their photos below!
