Scrapyard Golf
One of my favourite parts of my childhood was going to Belfast with my parents. Mum would have went to Anderson & Macauley’s for material and Dad went to the model shop to get paint. Then we got a have a look around LeisureWorld. It was always packed and you had the lights and sounds from all the toys and displays. Now that I’m a parent, I’m gutted that my kids never got to experience LeisureWorld, but then I discovered this!
Scrapyard golf is brought to you by the creators of Belfast's much-loved LeisureWorld toyshop! How awesome is that! It’s an indoor family-run 21-hole golf course + BONUS HOLE has been designed with only the golfer in mind and they are based in Glengormley. The golf course has been designed by an US team of designers but it’s totally northern ireland themed. Let’s face it, you can’t get more Northern Irish that a NI ambulance, Crimestoppers and Stickers of our 6 time world superbike champion, Jonathan Rea on the lockers!
The only downside I would say, and honestly, it’s really just me nitpicking, it that there is no air conditioning, so with it being packed to the hilt, the neon lights and running about, it gets warm. And with it being so busy, you do have to wait sometimes to get your turn but seriously, none of that matters because you are too busy looking at everything around you and having fun with who you are with that waiting for your turn goes by really, really quick and for the youngsters, it means more turns on the slide!
We had a great time, I even got my hole in one through the ten pin bowls to my son’s sheer disgust lol but he was happy in the end beating me by 10 points! We’ll definitely be back. It’s so much fun and definitely something different. Well done guys! You done good!
